A. (Abishek) Baskar

Profile

Abishek obtained his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Trichy, India, in 2019. He then worked as a Senior Engineer at Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for two years. He later earned a master’s degree in Structural Engineering with a specialization in Steel and Composite Structures from TU Delft in November 2023. Currently, Abishek is a PhD student working on the WrapNode-II project supported by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

During his master’s studies, Abishek developed an interest in demountable hybrid structures for a sustainable environment, working on the “Static and Fatigue Performance of Connectors for Fibre-Polymer Composite Decks on Highway Bridges”. For his PhD, he is conducting research on “Fatigue Crack Initiation and Propagation in Complex Bonded Steel-Composite Joints” under the supervision of Dr. Marko Pavlović. Extensive fatigue experiments combined with numerical analysis will be employed to predict the fracture behavior of composite materials
