Mission

Our institute is dedicated to advancing research, development, and innovation in the realm of sports technology and equipment. Our primary goal is to create technology and engineering solutions to enhance athletic performance, to improve health and sports participation in a sustainable way. Also sports and sustainability is a topic to focus on, where there is still much to be gained. We work closely with external sports organizations, businesses, government bodies, and various stakeholders to transform our research findings into tangible practical applications and groundbreaking innovations. We firmly believe in the transformative power of sports as a motivator for leading an active and healthy life. We want to promote visibility and foster a positive societal impact through our work.

Interdisciplinary collaboration

The TU Delft Sports Engineering Institute functions as a platform for sports engineering research, education and innovation. We create intensive multi-faculty collaboration and facilitate cross-disciplinary teamwork at the faculties of Mechanical Engineering (ME), Industrial Desing Engineering (IDE), Aerospace Engineering (AE), Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) & Technology, Policy and Management (TPM).
