His doctoral research focused on developing an optical readout technique for donor qubits in silicon. This work involved designing, fabricating, and testing photonic structures and cavities aimed at enhancing zero-phonon emissions from donor-bound excitons in silicon. After finishing his PhD in 2018, Dr. Nur joined the Quantum Nanophotonics group at the Centre for Cold Matter, Imperial College London. There, he explored photonic structures and optical cavities, coupling them with novel quantum emitters to develop efficient single-photon sources. In February 2021, Dr. Nur began postdoctoral research in the Quantum Integration Technology (QIT) group, also known as the Ishihara Lab. His work focused on developing scalable fabrication and on-chip integration processes for diamond-based quantum technologies. This research included integrating photonic and electronic circuits with diamond spin systems and incorporating diamond color centers, all with the goal of advancing scalable, compact, and high-speed quantum computing. Since October 2023, Dr. Nur has served as an Assistant Professor in the Q&CE department. His research interests include scalable fabrication and integration of diamond spin quantum systems, with applications in chip-scale quantum computers, biosensors, MASERs, and quantum transducers.
