Electrical Engineering Master’s graduates are in great demand on the job market. You have a strong affinity with technology and are a good team player and communicator. In fact, you are a specialist with the ability to view things from a broad, analytical perspective. Electrical engineers are vital in our world for technological development. You are equipped to contribute to a rapidly developing discipline.
Once you have obtained your degree, you could start working at a variety of companies, for example designing advanced products and equipment in a Research & Development department of a major high-tech company like Philips Medical Systems, ASML or KPN. You could also opt to apply at an engineering company or consultancy agency, such as McKinsey. But, of course, you could also embark on your own start-up adventure.
Completing a PhD
You can start an academic career with a doctoral programme at the EEMCS Graduate School. The faculty of EEMCS is known for its leading research in all fields of Electrical Engineering under supervised by renowned professors and lecturers. You will work in a heterogeneous, international environment and will continue to deepen and broaden your knowledge in the four years in the Graduate School Doctoral Education Programme. Ultimately, you will write a dissertation, incorporating your contribution to science. After you have successfully defended your doctoral dissertation, you may call yourself Dr. Ir. or PhD.
