4DMUD
4DMUD is focused on developing new knowledge on mud dynamics in rivers, ports and estuaries. We are investigating settling and consolidation of sediment in the laboratory and in the field. By using robust numerical tools (Delft3D, OpenFOAM), we are modelling density currents and Non-Newtonian sediment flows along the bottom for optimizing port maintenance and designing preventive measures for siltation in ports and waterways.
