Facilities
The faculty of Mechanical Engineering offers various labs to researchers and students of the faculty. The building is always in development and more research facilities are being added. On this page you can find a selection of our labs.
Mobile Robotics Lab
The Mobile Robotics Lab is a dedicated space for experiments with mobile ground robots and drones. The focus of this lab is to serve as a testing area where researchers can conduct realistic experiments and validate their control, planning, coordination or perception methods.
Clean room
When working at the nanoscale, even a speck of dust can cause disruptions. In the clean room, researchers have the unique possibility to build mechanical structures at nanoscale.
Chemistry lab
The new chemistry lab offers more space for the increasing number of students and researchers who want to use chemicals in a suitable environment.
Wind AI Lab
The wind generated in the Wind AI Lab is almost real. A wind machine with 1,500 fans creates wind fields with different speeds and directions. This gives a true picture of the wind at sea.
Materials for Additive Manufacturing lab
In the Materials for Additive Manufacturing lab, researchers can explore new materials and process them into products and components for extreme conditions.
Cavitation Tunnel
Cavitation is a phenomenon that causes shipping a lot of problems. In this tunnel, experiments can demonstrate exactly how cavitation occurs and what we can do about it.
Micro CT Scanner
The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (ME) works with a wide range of materials. The arrival of a micro CT scanner at the faculty allows researchers to dive even deeper into these materials.
