Peyman Taheri

Dr. Peyman Taheri received his PhD from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Delft University of Technology in November 2012. He worked on “interfacial bonding mechanisms of carboxylic coatings on pretreated zinc surfaces” defended with distinction of “Cum Laude” under the supervision of Prof. Hans de Wit, Prof. Arjan Mol (TU Delft) and Prof. Herman Terryn (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). He joined Prof. A. Javey’s group at the University of California, Berkeley as a postdoc fellow under Rubicon-NWO personal grant ranked 1st among the applicants. He worked on a multidisciplinary project entitled "atomic-scale control of the surface charge-transfer”.

He is currently a tenure track assistant professor at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Delft University of Technology working on surface and interface characterizations, electrochemistry and fabrication of devices and electrodes. His research focus is on “electrocatalysts” for energy applications, particularly CO2 electrochemical reduction and water splitting through electrochemical processes.
