Who is Sam Rentmeester?
For 25 years Sam Rentmeester worked as a photographer for Delta, the independent journalistic platform of the TU Delft. Rentmeester knows how to beautifully portray student life, research, education, the buildings on campus, the laboratories and more. “I always try to arouse people’s curiosity with my photographs” Rentmeester tells us.
Disruptive fire and Olympic champions
The photo exhibition at the Library TU Delft displays a selection of his huge archive and gives a unique glimpse of TU Delft over the past 25 years. One of the photographs shows the disrupting fire at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment on May 13, 2008. Another panel displays individual portraits of several TU Delft students who went to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. And Rentmeester recalls that people who are afraid of heights shiver when seeing the image taken from the top of the weather measurement tower in Cabauw.
Photographer Sam Rentmeester
Sam Rentmeester was born in Vlaardingen (1970). He has been a freelance photographer since 1994. Sam photographed - except for Delta and Delft Integraal/Outlook - for VNO-NCW, Onderzoeksboek.nl, Link Magazine, Technisch Weekblad, De Ingenieur, ING, University of Twente (TUT), University of Wageningen (WUR), ABN-AMRO, Carrièrekrant, NWO Technologiestichting, Deltares, and others.
