Board
GreenTU is led by a board of seven student employees, newly selected each academic year. The GreenTU board falls under the responsibility of TU Delft's executive board, and works closely together with TU Delft's core sustainability people (such as sustainability coordinator Andy van den Dobbelsteen) and university services.
Below, this year's board members will introduce themselves and their function!
Marlou | Chair
My name is Marlou, a first year MSc student in Strategic Product Design within IDE. I have always been very interested in climate change and eager to make the world around me more sustainable!
As the chair of greenTU, I am overseeing the overall sustainability transition that TU delft is going through together with the sustainability core team, the GreenTU board and our committees and GreenTeams. It is really inspiring to see more and more students and employees motivated and excited to join on this journey!
At TU Delft, we have a unique opportunity to educate the people who will shape the future. We’re not only empowering students with the skills and mindset needed to tackle environmental challenges, but we’re also leading by example and setting a standard for other universities and companies worldwide. We are reshaping the default, together!
Nefeli | Secretary & Research Coordinator
Hi! I am a second year MSc student in Applied Earth Sciences – Climate&Weather. My studies focus on climate change, but through GreenTU I hope to contribute to the social change needed to bring upon a fast and efficient decarbonization. I share two roles, Secretary and Research Coordinator. My goal this year is to encourage the university and students to undertake science-based climate action and improve the university’s transparency and communication to students on matters that concern sustainability. I also hope to contribute to the continuation and implementation of the “Advice on fossil fuel industry collaboration” by providing a student perspective and working on the preparations for its implementation.
Josefien | Operations Coordinator
Hi, I'm Josefien, the Operations Coordinator for GreenTU at TU Delft this year! My role is all about bridging the gap between students and the campus sustainability team, CREFM (Campus Real Estate and Facility Management). I help connect students with innovative sustainability ideas to the right people at CREFM, making sure their projects can come to life on campus. It’s exciting to be part of so many cutting-edge, eco-friendly initiatives, and to see the impact we can make together! Alongside my work with GreenTU, I’m studying Management in the Built Environment, with a passion for sustainable construction and property management. I believe in creating future-proof, sustainable practices in the built environment, and that’s exactly what I aim to bring to my role this year. My motto: "Redefining Green: Innovating Sustainable Operations for a Future-Ready Campus!" embodies my mission to make TU Delft a leader in sustainability and innovation.
Sanne | GreenTeams Coordinator
Hii my name is Sanne and I'm the GreenTeams Coordinator for GreenTU this year! I am currently in the first year of the master Civil Engineering. I really like that I can combine my interest in sustainability and looking into ways to make this topic also fun and engaging for the people around me within my role at GreenTU.
As GreenTeams Coordinator I am in contact with students at different faculties with all their own views on sustainability. I believe these different perspectives play an important role in engaging both interested and not yet interested students. And at the end we are all in this together and together we can make an impact! So, my personal goal this year is to connect these students and let them inspire each other to reach sustainability goals!
If you are interested in what you can do or if you would like to talk about joining a GreenTeam, don’t hesitate to message me via greentu@tudelft.nl or via Instagram message!
Bendert | Outreach Coordinator
Hi, I am Bendert, and I am currently the outreach coordinator of the Green TU board 2024/2025. As the primary link between GreenTU and the broader TU Delft community, I focus on keeping good connections with student/study/sports and culture boards and external partners to promote sustainability across campus. My role involves organizing collaborations and initiatives that bring together associations and students to actually make impact on TU Delft's sustainability goals. One of my tasks is organizing a yearly sustainability label where associations can apply for which reflects their current level of sustainability. Furthermore, I aim to engage and inspire students, empowering them to take active roles in creating a more sustainable future for our university and beyond. Let's work together to make sustainability the new standard at TU Delft!
Marie-Batisse | Communications & Events Coordinator
Hi, I’m Marie-Batisse! I’m currently pursuing a bridging pre-master from Nanobiology to Chemical Engineering and am also proud to be part of the GreenTU board. As the Communication & Events Coordinator, I focus on organizing events that inspire environmental awareness and action while bringing people together to create connections and share ideas around sustainability.
Beyond organizing sustainable events, I help others make their activities more eco-friendly by providing resources like the Green Events Manual and the CO2 Events Tool. I’m passionate about creating a positive impact by making sustainability accessible and achievable in everyday decisions. Together, we can make a real difference for the environment.
In addition, I work with a committee to connect students with sustainable companies and thesis opportunities. By linking students with like-minded organizations, we aim to open doors for meaningful projects and research that contribute to a more sustainable future. I believe these connections help create a network of students who are passionate about making a real impact in the world.
Quinten| Education & Research Coordinator
Hello, I’m Quinten! I’m a second year Industrial Ecology student, which means that from a studies perspective I’m in the middle of the sustainability movement. GreenTU allows me to contribute something back to the university while still here.
With over seven thousand students graduating each year, TU Delft exerts influence all across the world via its alumni. That is why teaching every single student to take a sustainable mindset is vital. In the position of Education and Research Coordinator, I'm working with students and staff to bring sustainability education to each faculty, at every level of education.
As (future) alumni of such a great educational institution, we are in a privileged position to shape the future. Let’s work together to make that future green and fair for everyone!
