Energy transition at the heart of TU Delft's education programme
On Thursday 9 June, the TU Delft campus will be buzzing like never before. On that day, students will be presenting their ideas on how to accelerate the energy transition. Over the past six months, more than 15,000 TU Delft students have followed a course on energy transition. This has resulted in a large number of ideas and prototypes that can be seen on 9 June during the Energy Challenge Event, which is part of TU Delft's anniversary year.

Paulien Herder elected as new KNAW member
Paulien Herder, Professor of Engineering Systems Design, is one of twenty-two new members of the KNAW. Prof.dr.ir. Paulien Herder has been dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (TNW) at Delft University of Technology since March 1, 2021.

Zwaartekracht funding for quantum materials consortium
The ministry of Education, Culture and Science has awarded a Zwaartekracht funding of 21.5 million euro to the consortium QuMAT, of which TU Delft researcher Kobus Kuipers (Quantum Nanoscience) is one of the lead applicants.

The ministry of Education, Culture and Science has awarded a Zwaartekracht funding of 20.8 million euro to the IMAGINE! consortium, of which TU Delft researchers Elizabeth Carroll, Sjoerd Stallinga (both ImPhys) and Carlas Smith (3ME) are a part of.

Discovery of the one-way superconductor, thought to be impossible
Associate Professor Mazhar Ali and his research group at TU Delft have discovered one-way superconductivity without magnetic fields, something that was thought to be impossible ever since its discovery in 1911 – up till now.

Royal award for Paulien Herder
On 26 April 2022, Professor Paulien Herder, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, was awarded a Royal distinction in the municipality of Pijnacker-Nootdorp. Paulien Herder was appointed a Knight in the Order of the Lion of the Netherlands, an award given to persons who have made an exceptional contribution to Dutch society.
