Begüm Yilmaz

I am a PhD student in the group of Monique A. Van der Veen. I am studying the utilization of photothermal effect to thermally activate the reactions at small time scales and monitor the catalytic conversions by using ultrafast spectroscopy.

I obtained my BSc and MSc degrees at Middle East Technical University, Chemical Engineering Department, Ankara / Turkey. My master study focused on artificial photosynthesis where I studied CO₂, H₂O and H₂ adsorption over catalysts by using adsorption manifolds connected to vacuum assemblies together with microcalorimetry and NMR.
