Doğa Özerk

I am a PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. Ruud van Ommen, focusing on advancing catalyst design for efficient CO2 hydrogenation. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and a master’s from EPFL in Switzerland, where my thesis centered on developing highly active copper-based catalysts for the reverse water-gas shift reaction.

In my PhD research, we aim to address key challenges in catalyst stability and performance for CO2 hydrogenation reaction. To achieve this, we use Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), a gas-phase technique with atomic precision that provides exceptional control over catalyst morphology. ALD enables the deposition of catalytic materials and the formation of protective layers, making it an ideal tool for designing advanced catalysts.
