FlexEChem: Flexible Electrochemical Plant of the Future
One of the challenges for electrochemical plants powered by renewable energy is their operation at fluctuating power inputs. To avoid the problems caused by the large power input range, the dynamic behavior of the electrochemical reactor, and the downstream system components, need to be analyzed. The FlexEchem project aims to study the design and control of the complete process of electrochemical reduction of CO2 to ethylene over high load changes. More specifically, my project is to develop time-resolved multiscale modelling of electrolyzers.
