Are you curious about what X has to offer? Are you curious about the new courses and our many ticket hours? Then this is your chance, get to know our offer for free during the Free Try-Outs from 4 to 8 September!
During the Free Try-Outs you can get to know our offer, ranging from sports, games and art forms to lifestyle and health, for free. So you don't need an X-subscription for this. Who knows, you might discover your new favourite class or course!
What's on offer?
During the FTOs, you can try out many of the offerings. Below you can already get an impression. The complete FTO schedule can be viewed via the web shop, when you select 'Free Try-Outs' under type! Take a look below at what you can do during the Free Try-Out and scroll down for more information.

Join one of our more than 50 ticket hours for free!
Find your instrument
Try out instruments and ask all your questions to our teachers so you can choose the perfect music course!
Linocut & Printing
Veronica Comin is offering a Free Try-Out where you can see how lino prints are made and will be looking.
Film & Editing: Docu
From Jeroen, you will learn to film with a digital camera and edit the material into a beautiful documentary!
Hip Hop
Try out our Hip Hop course in FREEZONE B! In case of bad weather, the course will take place at Café X.
Jam Session
Do you already play an instrument? Join our jam session!
Silverclay
Nancy Roeters will give a demonstration on melting and shaping silver clay into small jewellery pieces.
Leatherworking
Morten and Roos will give you a little intro on working with the "pony" and you can try out some stitching yourself!
Stitch 'n Bitch
Marta Gavioli introduces this ticket hour by showing you some quick knitting and crochet techniques.
Singing: Choir
Join the choir and blend in or stand out - whatever you feel comfortable with, it's all possible here.
Afro Dance Styles
Try out our Afro Dance Styles course in FREEZONE B! In case of bad weather, the course will take place at Café X.- Ticket hours | You can join various ticket hours for free every day during the Free Try-Outs.
- Discover your Instrument | Never played an instrument before, but want to start making music? Try out instruments and ask all your questions to our teachers so you can choose the perfect music course! You can choose from Pop/Rock/Jazz (Foyer) or Classical (Theatre Hall).
- Jam Session | Do you already play an instrument but want to see if a course at X is for you to expand your skills and discover new styles? Join our jam session to play with genres and techniques, meet other musicians and try making music with others in a group. All our music teachers will be present to tell you more about their courses and help you find the best course for you.
- Free Try-Outs at Freezone B | new! | There are now Free Try-Outs of the Hip Hop and Afro Dance Styles courses taught at Freezone B! This is between the Library and the Aula. Should the weather be bad these will be given in Cafe X
- Stitch 'n Bitch | new! | This ticket hour is completely new and it is a perfect mix between being creative with knitting, crocheting and being social with each other. Marta Gavioli will give you an introduction during the FTO and it will be a good example of what ticket hours will look like. Bring your own project or learn your first knots or stitches to start your first project.
- Singing: Choir | new! | Would you like to sing in a place other than the shower, but would rather not commit to a singing course? Then come to the ticket hour and blend in with the crowd or stand out with your singing skills! Whatever you feel comfortable with.
- Linocut & Printing | new! | In this course, you will learn the basic techniques of linocutting and printing. During the FTO, Veronica Comin will show you how linocuts are made and what it will look like!
The Free Try-Outs programme reflects a selection of our offer, not all courses and ticket hours are included.
Enrolment for Free Try-Outs
Some parts during the Try-Outs require you to enrol.
Make sure you secure your spot by enrolling on time. How can you enrol? Every day at 13:00, the enrolment starts for all activities for the next day. The button below takes you to our webshop where you have to enrol for each activity separately. Is this your first time? Then you need to create a webshop account first.
