Congratulations on getting your degree! An achievement to be proud of, you are now a TU Delft alumnus and part of a network of more than 100,000 alumni.

Now that you got your degree, there are a couple of things that need to be arranged. To make sure that everything will be organised properly after your studies and that you won’t forget anything, we have put together the following checklist for you.

1. Unenrol as a student

  • Make a back-up of your account/Brightspace.
  • Turn on your Out of Office. Tip: Redirect emails to your private email account.
  • You can change your contact details yourself on the online alumni community tudelftforlife.nl.
  • If you still have library books, do not forget to return them.
  • Unenrol as a student.
  • Cancel your student loan if you will not continue studying.

2. Register as a TU Delft alumnus

As a graduate, you are now part of the network of active and engaged alumni and engineers. As a TU Delft alum you can now join the international community provided through our digital portal TU Delft for Life.

Application is easy and can also be done via LinkedIn. So far over 7000 alumni are active on this plaform and more are joining everyday. Update your contact information and preferences, read news on events and more.

3. Work and housing

(if you are not studying anymore)

  • For help finding a job, contact the Career Centre.
  • Haven’t found a job yet? You might be eligible to apply for a social welfare benefits from the UWV.
  • Are you an international alumnus from outside the EU and do you plan to stay in the Netherlands after graduation? Apply for an Orientation Year residence permit. Under the Orientation Year scheme no work permit is required for working, neither for a job nor for setting up your own company. Read more on Nuffic’s Holland Alumni Network website.
