Fieldwork
Several fieldtrips are organised in order to get the students familiar with the theory that is taught in the courses.
In a condensed fieldwork period (9 days) experience will be gained with the theory of several courses of Hydrology. This fieldwork takes place in catchments in the Luxembourg Ardennes. Measurements and analyses of the elements of the hydrological cycle, catchment characteristics, river characteristics and ecology are carried out by the students. This course, named CIE5471: Hydrological and ecological fieldwork in river systems, takes place in semester 2.2.
The course Geohydrology 2 (CIE5440) has started a one-day fieldtrip to the dunes. Here, the determination of the geohydrological parameters (aquifer and well tests) as well as groundwater quality parameters will take place.
