Research & Projects

Within my PhD research I investigate relevant mechanisms that drive long-term coastal evolution in the surfzone. With a particular focus on relevant interscale relationships in the surfzone (e.g. feedback from processes at small time and spatial scales to large scale phenomena and vice versa). One can think of studies on the time and spatial scales at which alongshore and cross-shore transport phenomena act. All studies should provide a basis for understanding large scale long-term coastal evolution of sandy beaches.
