Profile
I am a PhD candidate at the department of Geoscience & Remote Sensing since January 2021. During my master at the same department, I worked on monitoring and classifying river ice using SAR data. I am very happy to pursue my fascination in earth observation, climate change and the cryosphere and to continue doing research in this field. My PhD work focuses on Antarctic ice shelf instability.
Research
I research surface conditions of the ice shelves that are surrounding the Antarctic Ice Sheet. In particular, I am developing high-resolution remote sensing observations (optical, (in)SAR, scatterometers) of surface conditions related to melt to better understand how, where, and how much surface meltwater is formed and where it goes. This PhD is part of the HiRISE project.
