C.A.A. (Caspar) Jungbacker

Profile

I've been a member of the CEG faculty since 2018: after a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, I obtained a master's degree in Geoscience & Remote Sensing. My research interests lie in atmospheric physics and high-performance computing. For my master's thesis, I accelerated the Dutch Atmospheric Large-Eddy Simulation model using GPU's.

Research

I recently started my PhD under supervision of Franziska Glassmeier and Fredrik Jansson. My research is focused on modelling aerosol-cloud interactions using large-eddy simulations in the context of marine cloud brightening. This work is supported by the Refreeze The Arctic Foundation and in collaboration with the Centre for Climate Repair at the University of Cambridge.
