Maghsoodi, S.
Profile
Soheib Maghsoodi is a Post-Doctoral researcher at Delft University of Technology. He received his MSc in Geomechanics and Civil engineering (2016) from University of Grenoble-Alpes and PhD in Geotechnical engineering (2020) from University of Lorraine, France. During his Ph.D., he worked on “Thermo-mechanical behaviour of soil-structure interface under monotonic and cyclic loads in context of energy geostructures”.
Research
Soheib’s research interests and experience include advanced laboratory testing of geomaterials, numerical and constitutive modelling of soils and thermo-mechanical behaviour of soils and interfaces.
His current research is concerned with numerical modelling of cyclic soil-monopile interaction in context of Midas project (Monopile Improved Design through Advanced cyclic Soil modelling) for offshore wind turbines. His research in this project focuses on offshore structures and includes:
- Numerical and constitutive modelling of soils under cyclic loading
- Development of cyclic p-y model for time-domain analysis of offshore wind turbine-monopile-soil systems
- Cyclic behaviour of monopiles in sands
- Soil-structure interaction under cyclic loading
- 3D Finite element modelling of soil-structure interaction in offshore structures
Beside the mentioned research subjects, Soheib developed interests in energy foundations, experimental and numerical behaviour of soils under thermo-mechanical loads and monotonic and cyclic behaviour of soil-structure interfaces.
