J. Hermsen
My name is John Hermsen, I have been working in the stevinlab since 1988. Since that time I have supported many PhD and master students during the tests. As a young boy I came here to work in the lab and what appealed to me the most was the large set-ups in which large forces are tested up to 10,000 kN or more. Since 2018, the Hexapod (the must of Delft) has been in our laboratory where large tests can be done for shipping. During my long working period I also worked a lot in the field such as bridge measurements, wood projects. At the moment there are major projects in the "pipeline" such as the GDP (gentle driving of piles) project on the Maasvlakte. This requires a lot for research for both offshore and TU Delft.
