Chen Wang
Biography
Mr. Wang graduated from the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering of Anhui University of Technology with a Bachelor degree in 2017. After graduation, he continued his Master study at the Faculty of Materials Engineering of Wuhan University of Technology and obtained his Master degree in 2019. After that, he worked as a research assistant in China for one year. Since October 2020, he has been working in the Section of Pavement Engineering at Delft University of Technology as a PhD researcher.
Mr. Wang has focused his studies on evaluation of concrete properties by using different modification technologies during his undergraduate period and he did the research on the bituminous aging processing. In addition, he has done some solid waste research in his master thesis.
Currently, Mr. Wang is working on the development of a constitutive (elastic-viscous-plastic) model that describes the stress-strain behavior of asphalt concrete material under different loading conditions. Implementation of the material model in computational tools, such as finite element method, constitutes a valuable mechanistic approach that enables the visualization of the process leading to the deterioration of asphalt pavement. Consequently, the development of major distresses in asphalt concrete pavement, such as cracking and permanent deformation, can be effectively simulated and predicted.
