Dynamics of high-rise buildings
Our research group acts as the scientific director of the investigation of the seismic capacity of industrial structures in the north of The Netherlands (developing design codes, advising consultants, etc.). We took part in the advisory committee of the ministry of Economic Affairs to develop of a quick scanning method to verify industrial facilities on their seismic capacity due to the induced seismicity in the north of the Netherlands. Research focus
Within the design approach now recommended, the so-called LoC-methode has been developed primarily by our research group in combination with other experts. The research now has shifted mostly to the implementation of the developed seismic design methods in either existing or newly designed industrial facilities in the north of the Netherlands.
