Building upon the rich maritime heritage history of the site and aligning with the earlier theme of designing for children, the initial concept suggests creating maritime workshop spaces.

These spaces are specifically designed for the younger generation, aiming to inspire them to cultivate a deeper connection with Eilandje’s maritime history. The intention is to educate them on living harmoniously with water, considering the inevitable reality that the island will be submerged due to increasing water levels. Considering the high pollution levels of the on-site water, an integral aspect of the program’s scope involved designing boats. These boats would facilitate seasonal trips to areas with cleaner water, providing the opportunity for exploration and the practical application of navigation tools crafted by the participants. Due to the temporary usage of these boats, questions arose on what could happen when these boats are not in use. How could they be reused and implemented?
