High Pressure Laminate Building-Integrated PhotoVoltaics Facade System
The Dutch government's National Climate Agreement states that, by 2050, the amount of greenhouse gases must be reduced by 95 percent. Part of these greenhouse gases is the generation of electricity using fossil fuels. Sustainable alternatives are needed to reduce this. One of the possibilities is to generate electricity by means of integrated solar cells in a High Pressure Laminate facade panel.
The research is focused on the development of a new facade system, as there are new requirements fo rthe mounting of the High Pressure Laminate Building-Integrated PhotoVoltaics panels.
The new facade system enables the High Pressure Laminate Building-Integrated PhotoVoltaics panels to be installed in several steps. First, the panel is mounted with its top side on the hook. Next, the electrical cables are connected. Finally, the bottom of the panel is pressed against the compliant mechanism, which rotates the compliant mechanism into the undercut on the back of the panel. The result is a facade with the High Pressure Laminate Building-Integrated PhotoVoltaics panels.
