In Memoriam ir. Kees van der Linden
It is with great sadness that we learned of the sudden passing of Kees van der Linden. We extend our deepest sympathies to his loved ones, family, and friends during this difficult time.
In the period from 1996 to 2014, Kees was associate professor in Building Physics and Installations, during which time he also managed the Department of Architectural Engineering + Technology. Kees made significant contributions to the fields of building physics, installations, climate design, and sustainability. His book "Building Physics" and the website "Klimapedia" remain enduring and essential resources for education. Kees bridged the gap between the industry, government, and academia in a sympathetic manner we fondly remember and will greatly miss.
Andy van den Dobbelsteen (Professor of Climate Design & Sustainability, Sustainability Coordinator TU Delft): "Kees was able to connect many in the field, in government and at university. He was also a mentor for young engineers. Since his retirement, he was still in regular contact with his former colleagues and liked to catch up with them about the profession, the university and their lives. We will miss him and remember him dearly as one of the most amiable people we have known."
