Last week, the new TU Delft AI Futures Lab on Rights and Justice was launched. The aim of the Lab is to map how AI design and machine learning can be used to support rights and justice. This is important because poorly designed AI systems can cause damage to human rights both in a subtle manner and on a large scale. Scientists from the faculty of TPM and IDE are joining forces to close the existing knowledge gap in this area.
Ben Wagner from the faculty of TPM and Dave Murray-Rust from the faculty of IO lead the lab as responsible lab directors: “We’re excited to work together at the intersection of rights and justice, bringing social science and design expertise to reimagining the future of AI.”
