Opinion article by Niek Mouter in de Volkskrant about effective government communication

In this opinion article, Niek Mouter talks about recruiting citizens for climate policy from the government in a good way. A golden rule for effective government communication is that the message is in line with the values of the citizen and that the government itself sets a good example. Sometimes the government communicates very well about climate policy and sometimes poorly. It is important that as a government you connect the message well with the value system of citizens. And of course this does not only apply to climate policy. The thermostat in the house went well, the meat tax flopped.
