Scientists are smart people and should be given more influence on the distribution of research funding, says Sanli Faez, member of De Jonge Akademie. He was one of the founders of the national 'consultation for research funding'. The Young Academy wants to know from scientists how they would distribute research funding. Together with the Delft start-up Populytics, they created the consultation for research funding , in which scientists can sit in the chair of policymakers for a while. According to Sanli Faez, a physicist at Utrecht University, it is very sensible to involve researchers more in policy making.
