Investigating creative methods
Klaske Havik has been appointed as professor of Methods of Analysis & Imagination at the faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment. Methods of Analysis & Imagination holds a plea to pair in-depth analysis of diverse cultural, spatial and social situations with imaginative thinking about new spatial realities.
Many societal challenges of today have spatial implications, drastically altering the way in which people relate to their surroundings. More inclusive, democratic and site-specific approaches to the design of the built environment are necessary. In-depth analysis of diverse cultural, spatial and social situations should therefore be paired with imaginative thinking about new spatial realities. Specific focus is given to architectural imagination, by investigating creative methods used in architecture and other artistic disciplines to develop new ideas and innovations.
