Circularity in the Built Environment Graduation Award Ceremony

On 24 September the winners of the Circularity in the Built Environment Graduation Award 2019-2020 were announced by Dean Dick van Gameren, after a welcome and introduction by Tillmann Klein. This new annual award recognizes the contribution BK graduation students make to the transition towards a circular built environment and aims to stimulate research and innovation in the field of circularity in the built environment. 

The prize is awarded and judged by the Circular Built Environment Hub of the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment.

Winners

Winners of the Circularity in the Built Environment Graduation Award were selected from three categories.

Winner in the category ‘Cities & Regions’:
Sven van Bakel
Circular area development: Recommendations for creating a circularly functioning area

Winner in the category ‘Buildings’:
Job van den Heuvel
WeGrowCo – an open-building strategy

Winner in the category Materials & Components:
Juliëtte Mohamed
The re-seal window - A redesign of the edge seal of Insulated Glazing Units to facilitate easy and fast re-manufacturing
