Prestigious invitation for Marjolijn Haasnoot

Marjolijn Haasnoot of the section Policy Analysis at TPM and Deltares will acts as lead-author in the Sixth Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Assessment cycle. Haasnoot will contribute to Working Group ‘Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability’ and serve as lead author for the Chapter on Europe. Lead authors are nominated by national governments and selected on the basis of their expertise and work on a voluntary basis and in accordance with strict review procedures.  

About the Sixth Assessment Report

The Sixth Assessment Report is due in 2021, in time for the first United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) global stocktake when countries will review progress towards their goal of keeping global warming to well below 2 °C while pursuing efforts to limit it to 1.5 °C. The UNFCCC represents the political part of climate policy, such as the Kyoto protocol and Paris agreement. The IPCC represents the scientific element.
