Research Assistant in AR and MR for Advanced Mobility Data Visualization

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Assistant to focus on the application of Augmented Reality (AR) & Mixed Reality (MR) in transportation. Your role is to center on enhancing the visualization of mobility data through AR & MR, aiming at advancing user interaction and data interpretation in real-time environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and development: Conduct research, design, and development of AR and MR applications to improve visualization of mobility data, including prototyping and testing innovative user interfaces.
  • Experimentation and testing: Perform experiments to assess the usability and effectiveness of AR and MR applications, analyzing feedback and data to refine solutions.

Qualifications

  • You should be currently pursuing or have completed a Master’s degree in Transportation, Computer Science, or a related field. Candidates with a background in AR technologies are strongly preferred.
  • Experience with AR and MR development platforms, such as Unity3D or Unreal Engine, is required.
  • Demonstrable experience with programming languages such as Python or C++ is essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent attention to detail, willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently.
  • Prior research experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of API integration, database management, and real-time data processing is a plus

You are expected to work approximately 8 hours per week for 8 months. Candidates who have already completed their Master's degree may be eligible for a full-time position for 40 hours per week for 8 months. Vacancy Student Assistant for Interviewing Researchers with Disabilities

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Student Assistant to play a crucial role in conducting interviews with researchers who have disabilities. The interview involves engaging with researchers with a disability in the research community at Tu Delft, gaining insights regarding their experiences and challenges. The primary objective of the interview is to develop initiatives dedicated to researchers with motor, visual, hearing, or other disabilities recognized nationally or by TU Delft.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Interview Coordination: you will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating interviews with researchers. This involves liaising with participants, setting up interview dates, and ensuring accessibility accommodations are met.

2. Interview Facilitation: During the interviews, you will create a comfortable and open environment for the participants to share their experiences. This includes active listening, probing questions, and maintaining a respectful and empathetic approach.

3. Analysis and Reporting: You will analyze the interview data and write a brief report about the results of the interview.

Research assistant for project: Using Virtual Reality to understand wheelchair pedestrians’ road-crossing behavior

Come and help us conduct experimental research into the needs of pedestrians with reduced mobility (PRM), particularly wheelchair users, around the TU Delft campus. As a research assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in experiment design, data collection, and analysis. You will be required to recruit participants, conduct experiments, and collect data. In addition, you will also be responsible for data analysis.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in psychology, statistics, or a related field. Prior research experience is preferred but not required. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential qualities for this position.

We’re looking for students with the following profile:
