Mohammad Jafari

PhD student

Mohammad Jafari is a PhD student at SUM lab. He is a member of the Xcarcity project team and works on the project titled 'Sensor Network Design for Strategic Multi-modal Transportation Service Planning.' In this project, the goal is to determine the optimal location of sensors while considering different long terms objectives.

Mohammad obtained his MSc. in industrial engineering from the University of Tehran in 2021. His master's thesis focused on determining the optimal location of metro stations, considering various sustainability aspects.

His research interests include mathematical modeling, data-driven optimization, facility location optimization and the application of operations research methods in network design and transportation.
