Goed voorbereid op toekomstige rampspoed
Gisteren presenteerden Ernst Kuijpers, Marion Koopmans en Ahmed Aboutaleb bij het televisieprogramma Jinek het Pandemics and Disaster Preparedness Center (PDPC) van de TU Delft, Erasmus MC en Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam. Vele onderzoekers van CiTG zijn betrokken, onder wie prof. Bas Jonkman (vanwege zijn expertise over overstromingen en neveneffecten) en prof. Serge Hoogendoorn (vanwege zijn kennis over de rol van mobiliteit bij infectieziekten). Dit kenniscentrum brengt topwetenschappers met kennis van pandemische dreigingen en klimaat gerelateerde calamiteiten samen.

Hoe koraalriffen worden getroffen door vervuiling
We weten dat de koraalriffen wereldwijd afsterven, maar er is opvallend weinig bekend over hoe dit precies gebeurt. Daarom zal een multidisciplinair team van Nederlandse en Caribische onderzoekers, waaronder Boris van Breukelen van de TU Delft, dit de komende jaren onderzoeken. Het project 'SEALINK' heeft onlangs 3,5 miljoen euro subsidie gekregen in het kader van het Caribbean Research programma van NWO.

Building with Nature Programme in Indonesia wins International Flood & Coast Excellence Award, 2020
Our consortium, led by EcoShape and Wetlands International, and in which TUDelft plays a prominent role via our two research projects BioManCo and MuMaCo won a prestigious award from the UK Environmental Agency for our work in Indonesia, rehabilitating eroding mangrove-mud coasts and improving socio-economic and living conditions of the local communities.

Winner of the Journal of Flood Risk Management (JFRM) Outstanding Paper Award
Congratulations to Erik C. van Berchum, William Mobley, Sebastiaan N. Jonkman, Jos S. Timmermans, Jan H. Kwakkel, and Samuel D. Brody who have been selected for the JFRM Best Paper Award 2020 for their paper ' Evaluation of flood risk reduction strategies through combinations of interventions'.

New journal of Coastal and Hydraulic Structures
The Journal of Coastal and Hydraulic Structures (JCHS) is a completely free and open community-based journal. All papers are rigorously peer-reviewed research in a double-blind fashion. Its mission is to publish high level engineering science results focused on the field of coastal and hydraulic structures.
