Bolt & Beautiful
Project description
The Bolt & Beautiful project aims reduce the costs of bolts and flanges manufacturing and maintenance and increase bolting safety both for existing and future large wind turbines. It will ensure that the installation procedures are in line with the design and production of the bolts and flanges. This will lead to the lowest possible total cost while ensuring the structural integrity of the critical components. The solutions provided will be selected in consultation with and supported by relevant stakeholders.
Within this project, TU Delft team focusses on characterization of the cyclic behavior of bolts M48-M80 crack initiation and propagation, as well as performing full-scale segment cyclic tests.
