Environmental & Climate Design

The Environmental & Climate Design vision is a built environment that is based on positive footprints for both natural resources and indoor and outdoor environments (fresh air, sound, thermal delight and (day)light), with positive value for nature, humans and architectural design and with attention for climate change adaptation.

The mission of the E&CD section works on solving global challenges concerning a sustainable, climate-proof, healthy and comfortable built environment by educating new generations of designers and engineers and by developing needed innovations and by advancing the technical sciences. We are key partners concerning healthy and comfortable buildings and cities, the energy transition, circular built environments, climate change adaptation measures for the built environment. Within the E&CD section are five key groups;  Indoor Environment; Building Physics; Building Energy Epidemiology; Building Services Innovation; Climate Design & Sustainability.
