EquiCity
EquiCity Game: digital serious gaming for participatory city planning and management
The project developed the EquiCity serious game engine for mediating decision-making processes in urban planning, urban area redevelopment and architectural design (massing) of urban residential complexes, especially to provide mechanisms for involving less powerful stakeholders (ordinary citizens who may be neighbors of the site or its future residents).
The game provides a methodology for an interactive urban(re)development process using digital tools to design new configurations, in particular for heritage buildings and sites. The gaming platform is used as such to facilitate roundtable discussions for participatory planning and design processes.
