Hamed Abbasi joined ImPhys as Postdoc

Dr. Hamed Abbasi will explore clinical applications of computational scattered light imaging under the supervision of Dr. Miriam Menzel.

He received his PhD magna cum laude in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Basel in 2020. Afterwards, he started working as postdoctoral researcher at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam on photonics-guided surgery. While working in the Menzel Lab, Dr. Abbasi will continue working for two days per week at Erasmus MC where he improves the surgical removal of oral cancer using a unique, innovative combination of fluorescence-guided surgery and Raman spectroscopy.
