Hydrogen research & innovation event well attended

The first TU Delft Hydrogen Research & Innovation Event took place April 4. The goal of this event was twofold; one, to hear and get inspired by recent developments on Hydrogen and, two, to bring together researchers, corporates and others to facilitate collaboration. The event was well attended with over 350 participants who covered an interesting mix of companies and with interest and ambitions in the full Hydrogen chain.

The event was opened by Tim van der Hagen , rector magnificus TU Delft, who explained the TU Delft campus is being transformed into an innovation campus. Thereafter Allard Castelein, CEO of Port of Rotterdam, inspired the attendees with his view on the Port of Rotterdam as Europe's future hydrogen hub, whereas Mattijs Slee, CEO at Battolyser Systems, showed how the Battolyser can cost-effectively (temporarily) store energy in either electrons or molecules. The plenary session was followed by break-out sessions on Offshore Hydrogen production, Integrated Hydrogen-Energy systems, Hydrogen Storage & Transport and direct use of Hydrogen. In these sessions there were presentations and pitches from private parties, both starting and large, as well as from TU Delft researchers and student teams. After handing out the Best Poster Award, it was time for dinner where the attending researchers, students, policymakers and industry partners got to meet each other, ultimately to forge collaborations to contribute to the energy and hydrogen transition.
