Spring Event 2023 a great success
Since the start of the Delft AI Labs & Talent Programme in 2020, we come together with this growing community during the yearly Spring Event. This year, this event took place on Thursday 15 June at Mondai | House of AI. With over 175 talented and ambitious academics connected to and through this programme, we look back at an exiting third edition bringing together colleagues from all faculties, Delft AI Labs and from all corners of the AI-field at our university. The organisation is thankful for the year's contributions of other university programmes & departments to this community & collaboration celebration, including the Sustainability Project Team, Open Science Programme, TLS, Impact Studio & Delft Enterprises.
Themed Sustainable AI Futures, the event was packed with appealing keynotes, engaging panel discussions, interactive workshops, and networking drinks topped off with a pub quiz. Attendees had the chance to connect with other members of our AI Labs & Talent community, learn from experts in their fields, and gain new perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing society and our community when it comes to AI, data and digitalisation.
Geert-Jan Houben and Alessandro Bozzon opened the Spring event. Guest speakers June Sallou, Roel Dobbe and Andy van den Dobbelsteen inspired us with their stories and insights on sustainable AI futures, and joined the panel discussion moderated by Maria Luce Lupetti. In the afternoon, Frank van der Hoeven, Jonna Vis and Manon Stuit, Venkatesh Chandrasekar and Aleksandar Giga, Sonja Nollen-Smith and Marc de Kool led engaging, insightful and practical workshops on open science, education, impact with research, and communication respectively. Ujwal Gadiraju brought the perfect end to our event with an exhilarating pub quiz that kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

The 24 TU Delft AI Labs are committed to education, research and innovation in AI, data and digitalisation. These labs embody the bridge between research 'in' and 'with' AI, data and digitalisation. They foster cross-fertilization between talent and expertise, working to increase the impact of AI in the fields of applied sciences, design techniques and society. Academic faculty members and PhD students work together in each TU Delft AI Lab. This is made possible through our university-wide talent programme, whose aim is to accelerate research in all relevant scientific disciplines and to increase educational capacity. This Spring Event is organised in collaboration with Mondai | House of AI and TU Delft AI Initiative.
