Adarsh Kalikadien nominated as one of the top 3 nominees for the KNCV golden master award.
Adarsh recently got nominated by an expert jury as one of the top 3 nominees for the KNCV golden master award. The award is given to the best MSc. Thesis within a chemistry/chemical engineering topic. Adarsh finished his master thesis with a perfect 10, as can be read in one of our previous articles. Which is why he was proposed for this nomination.
In his thesis he described a computational workflow for the chemical space exploration of existing molecules. He is currently pursuing his PhD in professor Pidko’s research group. “In this research, the goal is to work towards a computational workflow for data-driven catalyst discovery. Together with data from a high-throughput experimentation facility of Janssen Chemical Process R&D, variations of the catalyst molecules can be made and computationally explored. By combining deep mechanistic insights, data science and our in-house automation tools, we aim at a predictive workflow that would help us discover new and efficient catalysts for the sustainable chemistry of the future.” The computational workflow that was designed during his master thesis, ChemSpaX, is thus a part of the bigger picture.
The winner will be revealed during ‘De avond van de Chemie’ on the 13th of October at the Leidse schouwburg.
