Fantastic Spring Networking Diner
On 31 may we had a wonderful first face-to-face Spring Networking Diner at the Rieten Dak in Delft. Female scientists from all faculties and in different position got acquainted while having a nice diner. We discussed parenthood, the importance of language in creating inclusive working environments and how to take on the challenges we all face. Our new Sounding Board was gratefully introduced. Two members who are very passionate about gender equality, Dr. Odette Scharenborg and Prof. Chiara Bisagni, talked about their academic careers and the importance of role models.
I had the chance of getting to know a number of inspiring women whose stories and experiences I could relate to. I also got nice feedback on who I am and what I have achieved in my professional career so far. What I enjoyed about the event the most was its social component ensuring slow thresholds for exchanging experiences with women in various stages of their career.
