Evgeny Pidko appointed as full professor
The executive board has decided to appoint Evgeny Pidko (Chemical Engineering) as full professor.
“I joined the department of Chemical Engineering at TU Delft in September 2017 to start a new group of Inorganic Systems Engineering (ISE). The research at ISE integrates fundamental mechanistic studies on defined molecular systems and applied research that utilizes these insights to create new and more sustainable catalytic processes to contribute to the energy transition, sustainable development and circular economy.
In my teaching I try to prepare students to deal with questions in chemistry and catalysis that do not yet have a solution. Students need to learn how to deal with uncertainty rather than being trained to solve standard exercises.
I hope that this appointment will not change anything. We will continue doing science we like and find relevant.
My promotion and my work in general would not be possible without the amazing colleagues within the ISE group, ChemE department and outside. I am very grateful to all past and present members of the ISE group for doing amazing science, for your dedication, trust and support! ”
