BK alumna selected to attend 5-day workshop by Norman Foster Foundation
BK Alumni Nadia Remmerswaal was granted by the Norman Foster Foundation to attend the Digital X Atelier in Madrid. The Digital X Atelier is a 5-day workshop for which only 10 (former) students have been selected.
Among the academic body of the workshop are people such as Frank Gehry, co-founder and former director of MIT Media Lab Nicholas Negroponte and Farshid Moussavi, principal of Farshid Moussavi Architecture.The focus of the Digital X Atelier is the kinship between architecture and the digital world; how are these two working together now and how will they change the world in the future. Additionally, the workshop will discuss the future of the digital world and the natural and what happens is they become the same world as well as what will happen to society when brain communication occurs between humans and robots.
Nadia Remmerswaal graduated at BK with an Architectural Engineering project in which she designed a CNC-milled formwork for Indonesian kampongs. With this project, Nadia has won several grants and prizes. Currently, the system is known by the name of CAST Formwork System.
