Sander Renes is een van de 60 onderzoekers die financiering krijgt vanuit de SGW Open Competitie XS van NWO. Dit zijn subsidies van maximaal € 50.000, bedoeld om veelbelovende ideeën, vernieuwende en risicovolle initiatieven.

TU Delft Safety & Security Institute mandate has been renewed for another 5-year period to continue its work with and for the safety & security research community at TU Delft. For this next chapter of the institute, Behnam Taebi will hand over the directorship to Eleonora Papadimitriou and Justin Dauwels. Together they will take the lead as co-directors. With Mechanical Engineering joining, the institute now represents the safety & security communities of six faculties.

De nieuwe coalitie wil twee, liefst vier nieuwe kerncentrales. Dit leidt tot boegeroep én tot gejuich. Hoort erbij, zeggen hoogleraren Behnam Taebi en Sabine Roeser. Zij hopen op ruimte voor dialoog zodat een inhoudelijke afweging kan ontstaan. 'We hebben een maatschappelijke dialoog over kernenergie nodig. Als emoties niet tot het kookpunt opborrelen kunnen ze mensen in gesprek krijgen."
