Languages

If you are planning to go abroad for your study programme whereby a language proficiency is required, you may want to consider the options available to you. The rules and procedures for partner universities and companies regarding the language requirements are often subject to change. Therefore, keep in mind that you should check the language requirements of the host university/company yourself.

Before you leave, you must have a sufficient command of the language in which the courses will be taught, or in which the language will be spoken on the work floor. Some partner universities require you to add language test results to your application whereby you must submit a certificate showing the language course you have taken, or proof that you have registered for a suitable language course.

There are also options to improve your language skills through Erasmus+, ITAV at TU Delft, or via the Enhance network.

Erasmus+ students
Students who go abroad within the Erasmus+ framework have the opportunity to access Online Language Support (OLS) in both their mobility language and the official local language(s) of their destination via the EU Academy.

ITAV (Centre for Languages and Academic Skills)
The Centre for Languages and Academic Skills offers education, training, and advice in the areas of communication skills and languages. They offer elective language courses in Spanish, Italian, English and Dutch.

ENHANCE Network
Language Tandems aims to enhance language learning via online conversations and enables participants to make new contacts within the ENHANCE community.
