Profile
Irene is a PhD candidate at the Policy Analysis section of the Faculty of Technology, Policy and Management. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Groningen, with a specialization in (photovoltaic) materials. After a year in a student representative role, Irene continued with the master’s programme Engineering and Policy Analysis at TU Delft. For her thesis, she worked on implementing a new sampling approach for Scenario Discovery, a quantitative model-based approach for scenario development.
Research
Her PhD research focuses on simulation-optimization under uncertainty. This research explores how to optimize resource positioning in networks with uncertain and limited real-time data. This project is in collaboration with the Dutch National Police.
