Onderzoeksinteresses

Sterre de Jager is currently a researcher at TU Delft in the Human-Centered Design department. She will soon start her PhD research at Design, Organisation and Strategy.

Her research interests include design for transformation in the fashion industry, thereby rethinking design-manufacturing techniques, systems, cultural connection, and circularity in their entirety. Furthermore, she is highly interested in joint value creation within small-scale, mission-driven projects, and how dealing with this in a structured manner from both a project management and co-design perspective could contribute to societal transformation.

Academische achtergrond

She graduated Cum Laude from the Strategic Product Design master programme in July 2023. She focused on leveraging niche-innovative design-manufacturing techniques to transform the denim industry in thesis. Her current work as a researcher extends on this systemic and transformative design in the textile/fashion industry, but also beyond this industry alone. For instance, researching mission-driven social initiatives is also included, as well as branding and conceptual sketching. In all work, a strong emphasis is placed on initiating transitions bottom-up and co-creative, and uncovering all ecosystem stakeholders as well as possible before any systemic designing takes place.
