Biografie
Rishikesh is a PhD student in the wind energy research group of TU Delft with Ampyx Power B.V as his industry partner. His research lies in the system level aspects of airborne wind energy, and its integration in the European energy markets. Airborne wind energy (AWE) is an innovative wind energy technology which taps into higher altitude winds that are inaccessible to traditional towered wind turbines. He completed his masters in Sustainable Energy Technology from TU Delft with a focus on wind energy and energy economics. During his PhD he will be investigating the design drivers for utility-scale airborne wind energy systems (AWES), hybrid power systems modelling using AWE, and the value of AWE to the EU electricity market.
Other than the academics, Rishikesh loves to be outside in the nature. On one hand he really misses the Indian terrain (mountains) and the spicy street food, but on the other, he really enjoys the calmness of Delft and the Netherlands in general. He loves listening to Indian classical music and also plays a percussion instrument called the ‘Tabla'. He tries to practice sustainability in his day-to-day living.
